Examination Process
To make the process clear and straightforward, Exam Editor structures every examination into distinct phases.
This step-by-step approach ensures consistency, saves valuable time, and gives teachers full control from preparation through to final results.
1. Creation and Editing
- Create a cover page with the exam title, date, duration, and other important details
- Add questions with instructions, hints, and supporting materials
- Define a scheme for grade conversion
- Enable an optional time limit or random question order
- Optional: Export the exam as a PDF for archiving or printing
2. Taking the Exam
- Pupils complete the exam using the provided materials and guidance
- An optional password can be set to control when the exam begins
- If a time limit is enabled, submission happens automatically when time runs out
- Questions may appear in random order to ensure individualised exams (if enabled)
3. Feedback
- Points are awarded for each question and feedback is attached
- Spelling errors are highlighted automatically
- Overall feedback for the exam can also be included
- If a grading scheme is defined, Exam Editor calculates marks automatically
- The calculated grade can be overridden if needed
- The exam may be exported as a PDF in this phase, allowing handwritten annotations to be added
4. Final Results
- Pupils receive a summary of their results, including score, grade, and overall feedback
- Detailed feedback and scores for each task are available
- The completed exam can be exported as a PDF for archiving or sharing with pupils
